Wood Group reshuffles management team

Wood Group’s chief financial officer Alan Semple intends to retire and step down from his current role and from the board at the company’s annual general meeting in May 2015.

Alan has been CFO and a member of the company’s board since 2000, Wood Group said in a statement.

David Kemp, CFO of Wood Group PSN will succeed Alan and will join the board as an executive director following the 2015 annual general meeting. To ensure effective management of this change, David will assume the role of deputy CFO from 1 January 2015, the company said.

Recognising the breadth of Wood Group’s operations, and its longer term growth potential, the board is also creating a new role of chief operating officer (COO). Robin Watson, currently CEO of Wood Group PSN is to be appointed COO during the first half of 2015 with responsibility for the three strategic business units – Wood Group PSN, Wood Group Mustang and Wood Group Kenny. The timing of this move will depend on appointing a suitable successor for Robin in his current role, according to the statement.

Robin became CEO of Wood Group PSN in 2012 and was appointed to the board on 1 January 2013. He joined the business in 2010 and has over 30 years engineering and industry experience.
