Yemen LNG Pipeline to Be Repaired in a Week, Minister Says

A gas pipeline feeding the Balhaf LNG terminal in Yemen will take about one week to be repaired following an attack on it on October 30, Reuters quoted Yemen’s oil and minerals minister Ahmed Dares as saying.

The government is working to take a series of measures to secure the oil installations and to prevent any future acts or risk,” he said.

The 320km pipeline has been attacked several times this year by suspected al-Qaida-linked gunmen.

It transports around 1.14 billion cubic feet/day from Block 18 in Marib province in northern Yemen to the Total-operated LNG export terminal at Balhaf.
