Yemen LNG Signs MOU to Build Coastal Village Water Project

 

Yemen LNG General Manager, François Rafin, and the General Director of the Rural Water Authority Shabwa Office (RWA), Saleh Taleb Mujawar, signed in Balhaf today a Memorandum of Understanding to finance the construction of a Coastal Village Water Project in areas adjacent to Yemen LNG Balhaf Plant.

The project will provide potable water for the benefit of around 10,000 inhabitants in the local communities of Jel’ah village, Bir Ali and other villages on the Al-Ayn Bay. This will include the installation of 11km of a pipeline network that will run from Yemen LNG plant into the targeted villages and will include the construction of related water tanks.

Speaking on the occasion, Yemen LNG General Manager François Rafin stated that “this project is the outcome of a fruitful partnership with the local authorities and communities of Shabwa and it aims to provide easy access to clean water for our neighbors.”

The signing ceremony was witnessed by Shabwa Governor, Dr. Ali Al-Ahmadi, and representatives from the Ministry of Oil and Minerals. Representatives from Rudoom District Authority and local communities were in attendance as well.
