3. MAJ Splashes Two for WISBY

Croatian-based shipbuilder 3. MAJ, a subsidiary of ULJANIK Group, launched two new river barges on February 4th 2014.

The barges, to be used for transportation of crude petroleum and petroleum products, were constructed for the Swedish company WISBY TANKERS AB. Both barges have identical characteristics; 59.5 m long, 16 m wide and with a total height of 4.6 m. The load bearing capacity is 2500 tonnes.

The barges were constructed under the supervision of the classification society BUREAU VERITAS, and will be sailing under the Columbian flag.

On the same day, between the two launchings, the steel cutting for two new asphalt barges began at the yard.
