Shanghai Metalock Completes YI MENG SHAN's Propeller Repairs

On the night of March 2nd, CIC Metalock received the resort from M/V ‘YI MENG SHAN’ that required Metalock to repair the propeller at Sanlin branch, Lixin Shipyard as soon as possible. Metalock organized capable engineers to survey the damage of the propeller immediately.

It was known after the checking that the propeller was 5.6m in diameter and made of Mn-Al bronze. One crack of 300mm was found in leading edge of one blade, which was needed the heat treatment to release the welding stress. The difficult of the work was that the working time was short and the heat treatment needed 10 hours. Considering the situation, Shanghai Metalock continued working through the whole night and completed the job successfully, which won the precious time for the owners.
