Oman Container Lines Expands Its Container Vessel Fleet

Due to a significantly increasing interest from a number of new customers, Oman Container Lines announced the introductionof MV ALTONIA on its Gulf Express feeder service running between the Port of Salalah, Oman and Jebel Ali, U.A.E.

The vessel’s maiden call on the service will be on the 29th April 2012 at Jebel Ali where she will be loading her first cargoes for our valued customers. MV ALTONIA, built in 2000, is currently the largest container vessel to be operated by OCL. At 184.7 meters long and a beam of 25 meters, and a nominal capacity of 1,730 TEU. The introduction of this new capacity is a sign of Oman Container Lines’ commitment to the local and regional markets as well as its valued customers.

(20%), headquartered in Muscat, Oman. It was established to transport the Sultanate’s oil and gas products to world markets, provide Omani shipping services to the country’s trade partners in other commodities, and tore-vitalize Oman’s seafaring tradition.The Company is involved in ship owning, chartering and management activities through its subsidiary companies: Oman Charter Company S.A.O.C.,Oman Ship Management Company S.A.O.C., and Oman Container Lines S.A. and Oman Container Lines S.A.
