China: Ouhua Shipbuilding Launches Bulker N Schelde

Zhejiang Ouhua Shipbuilding Co., Ltd, the leading shipbuilding enterprise in Zhejiang province, has launched the second 37K series Handysize bulk carrier which was built for the NORD company.

In only took two months, from keel laying held on August 29th, for the shipyard to launch the N Schelde.

The shipyard provided proper condition for polishing of the engine room as welding operations of hull and outfitting were completed early. Therefore the engine room of the vessel has been basically polished during erection phase, providing a favorable environment for its outfitting.

Zhejiang Ouhua Shipbuilding Co, established Oct. 2004, occupies 1,400,000 ㎡ with more than 2000 m of coast lines, it has two drydocks of 100,000 ton capacity and one drydock with 30,000 ton capacity which gives the company more than 1,000,000 dwt of production capacity per year. The company has developed high value added and high technology vessels like 1200 TEU, 1000 TEU, 1500 TEU, 1700 TEU, 4800 TEU, 5300 TEU, MPV 3.000 DWT, MPV 31.000 DWT, heavy lift 16.800 DWT, bulk carrier 37.000 DWT and 82.000 DWT.
