Tersan Shipyard Hands Over Havbryn to Norwegian Owner

Turkey- based Tersan Shipyard has handed over a 69.9m state-of-the-art stern freezer trawler named Havbryn to a Norwegian fishing company Strand Fiskelsra, worldfishing.net writes. This is the first from five trawlers being built by the Turkish shipyard for Norwegian companies.

Designed by  Skipsteknisk, Norway, the vessel features onboard Fish Process and Fish Meal Plant. The trawler measures 69.9m in overall length and 15.4m in breadth, and has 3, 144 gross tonnage.

With a freezing capacity of 1,500m3, it can produce 72 tons per day. In addition, Havbryn also has  a selective catalyst reduction system on the exhaust line aimed at cutting emissions and meeting IMO Tier III certification requirements.

The 1 x 4500 kW 4-Stroke MDO Engine and CPP Propulsion have been supplied by Wartsila enabling the trawler  to achieve 15 knots speed.

The video below brings an insight into the Havbryn’s launching ceremony at the Tersan shipyard, held last year.

Havbryn can accomodate up to 30 persons.

It has been certified by Det Norske Veritas.
