DOF scores two contracts for offshore vessels in Brazil

DOF ASA, an international group of companies which owns and operates a fleet of offshore/subsea vessels, has won a contract and contract extension in Brazil.

Namely, Petrobras has extended the RSV contract for the multipurpose vessel the Geoholm, with 18 months until December 2016.

The vessel has been operating for Petrobras since January 2014 and the extension is a direct continuation of the current contract.

DOF added that the total contract value for the Geoholm, including options, is in the region of NOK 325 million ($39,48 million). The vessel is owned by DOF’s subsidiary DOF Subsea AS.

The Geoholm was built in 2006 and it accommodates 70 persons.

AHTS Skandi Peregrino

In addition to contract extension with Petrobras, DOF has signed a two years contract plus two one-year options for the anchor handling vessel (AHTS) vessel Skandi Peregrino with Statoil and Norskan Offshore Ltda. The new contract will start after the current contract ends, on December 23, 2015, which means the vessel is firm until December 2017.

Statoil is the operator and holds a 60% stake in the large Peregrino field 85 km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro.  The Skandi Peregrino has operated for Statoil in Brazil since its delivery in 2010.

The vessel is owned by DOF Deepwater, a 50/50 joint venture owned by DOF ASA and Akastor SA.

According to DOF, the total contract values for the firm periods, for both vessels, are approximately NOK 575 million ($69,84 million). The value of the contract for the Geoholm being in the region of NOK 325 million means that the value of the contract for the AHTS is in the region of NOK 250 million ($30.3 million).

Mons S. Aase, DOF CEO, stated that he is “very pleased with the contract awards and the organization ability to secure long term work in a challenging market”.
