NOV in another FPSO STP system win

National Oilwell Varco has won an order to deliver a submerged turret production system for an FPSO to be deployed in India.

NOV said on Tuesday that APL, a company within its Completion & Production Solutions segment, would provide a large submerged turret production (STP) system.

The flexible turret mooring system will be provided to a joint venture between Shapoorji Palloonji Oil and Gas and Bumi Armada Berhad. The STP system will be used for an FPSO vessel that will be deployed on the East Coast of India.

This award follows a recent contract award from Samsung Heavy Industries for Reliance Industries’ FPSO on the MJ field.

In related news, Singapore’s offshore rig builder Sembcorp Marine has recently won a contract with Shapoorji Pallonji and Bumi Armada to convert a VLCC into an FPSO for deployment in the east coast of India. The vessel will produce up to 90,000 barrels of oil per day and have a 1.3-million-barrel storage facility.

The work will be done at Sembcorp Marine’s Tuas Boulevard Yard, with delivery scheduled in the second half of 2021.
