Poland gets 2nd LNG shipment

Vessels

Poland received on Monday its second ever cargo of liquefied natural gas from Qatar at the LNG import terminal in Świnoujście.

The cargo, that will be used for further operational tests, was brought onboard the 210,000 cbm Q-flex LNG carrier Al Nuaman. The Q-Flex vessel also delivered the first cargo to the Polskie LNG-operated terminal in December.

Unloading of chilled gas will take about three days, Polskie LNG said in a statement on Monday.

The cargo was secured under a contract between Polskie LNG and Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo under which the latter serves as an intermediary for the purposes of LNG supplies to the terminal.

PGNiG, the Polish oil and gas company booked the cargoes with Qatargas, the world’s largest LNG producer, in September 2015.

The first cargo for commercial purposes is expected in the second quarter this year.
