AEG Power Solutions said it has been awarded a contract to supply equipment that will ensure uninterrupted power supply for the Novatek-operated Yamal LNG project.

The Yamal LNG plant will receive more than 50 Protect 8 three-phase UPS units (400 V AC in/384 V DC out), capable of operating under challenging climate conditions, the company said in its statement.

Novatek-led Yamal LNG project is scheduled to begin producing from its first liquefaction train during 2017. At full capacity, the facility will be producing 16.5 million tons of LNG per year.

Shareholders in the project are Novatek, as operator with a 50.1 percent stake, CNPC and Total with 20 percent stake each and China’s Silk Road Fund with a 9.9 percent stake.
