The U.S. Trade and Development Agency launched the U.S. Gas Infrastructure Exports Initiative designed to connect American LNG players to new export opportunities across the gas value chain in emerging economies.

The initiative has been launched in coordination with LNG partners, the 27th World Gas Conference, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Global Energy Institute, as well as other industry members.

As U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminals are coming online, USTDA is expanding its partnership with the American gas industry to generate new LNG exports through the development of gas-related infrastructure in key LNG receiving countries, the agency’s statement reads.

As part of the Initiative, USTDA called for gas-related project proposals for U.S. companies that have identified project sponsors in high growth emerging markets.

The agency has already set plans for several upcoming gas sector reverse trade missions that will bring prospective overseas LNG buyers and gas infrastructure decision-makers to the United States for site visits and meetings with U.S. industry. The upcoming visits include delegations from Senegal, China, and other partner countries.

Under the Initiative, USTDA aims to support American gas industry jobs including early stage project preparation assistance that informs how infrastructure projects will ultimately be designed, financed and implemented, the statement reads.
