TPI Mega Line Secures Gorgon LNG Contract (Australia)

South Korean heavy transportation company TPI Mega Line has introduced the newest vessel in its fleet, the Mega Caravan II, on August 25, 2011. The newest heavy lift deck carrier in the fleet is one of the three company vessels contracted by the Gorgon Joint Venture.

TPI Mega Line has been awarded three transportation contracts by Chevron Australia, scheduled to start in early 2012.

TPI Mega Line has constructed two state of the art sister heavy lift deck carriers, Mega Caravan and Mega Caravan II, to join the Mega Trust in the transportation of modules from South Korea, Indonesia and China to Barrow Island, Western Australia. The total value of the three contracts, including the options, is approximately USD 76 million.

The Gorgon Project is operated by Chevron and is a joint venture of the Australian subsidiaries of Chevron (approximately 47%), ExxonMobil (25%), Shell (25%), Osaka Gas (1.25%), Tokyo Gas (1%) and Chubu Electric Power (0.417%).
