Three vessels to go as AtoB@C Shipping takes delivery of ninth plug-in hybrid newbuild

AtoB@C Shipping, a Sweden-based subsidiary of Finnish shipping company ESL Shipping, has taken delivery of the ninth vessel out of twelve plug-in hybrid coasters it has on order with shipbuilder Chowgule & Company.

The vessel, which belongs to the Green Coaster series, has been named Fleximar and was delivered on December 18.

“Fleximar and the entire Green Coaster series bring exceptional versatility to our fleet. These vessels can transport a wide range of cargoes from bulk commodities and steel products to large project cargo such as wind turbine components. With their ice class 1A, we can ensure year-round reliability and deliver low-emission solutions to our customers across the Baltic and North Sea,” said Frida Rowland, Director, Business Unit Coasters.

AtoB@C Shipping took delivery of the eighth vessel, named Ventumar, in September.

The remaining vessels are currently in various stages of construction at India-based Chowgule & Company, with one vessel to be delivered every quarter until the autumn of 2026.

Each 5,400 dwt vessel is equipped with advanced battery technology and shore-side electricity solutions, enabling emission-free and quiet port operations.
