Petrobras and ENH forge oil & gas partnership

Brazil’s state-owned energy giant Petrobras has shaken hands with Mozambique’s National Hydrocarbons Company (ENH) on a framework for bilateral cooperation across the oil and gas sector.

The two companies have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish the basis for strategic cooperation in the oil and gas sector. While the deal is valid for two years, there is also potential for renewal.

ENH is the commercial arm of the Mozambican State for the research, production, processing, commercialization, and distribution of oil and gas, including the development of projects throughout the oil sector’s value chain.

The MoU was signed by Sylvia Anjos, Petrobras’ Director of Exploration and Production; Jonilton Pessoa, Petrobras’ Executive Manager of Exploration; Rudêncio Morais, ENH’s Chairman of the Board of Directors; and Alegria Cossa, ENH’s Administrator.

Within the objectives of the agreement are joint action in studies, evaluation, development and commercialization, the sharing of knowledge and the exchange of technical experience.

This comes shortly after Petrobras inked a 20-year deal with Sempra Infrastructure to buy approximately 0.8 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG from the Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 project, currently under construction in Texas.
