New installer for Brazil

Aker Solutions has signalled its intent to start competing in the Brazilian offshore installation market after winning a deal to lay mooring lines for the StatoilHydro-operated Peregrino development on behalf of Maersk.

Aker has clinched a contract with Maersk FPSOs covering installation of an APL submerged turret production buoy and mooring system for the project, which it says marks the start-up of its South American marine operations unit, complementing its subsea operations there.
