AAL, Peter Döhle Set Up New Semi-Liner Service

Singapore-based breakbulk, project cargo and heavy lift carrier AAL and Peter Döhle Schiffahrts-LG, a shipping company from Germany, have launched a new service – ‘Asia-Middle East-Europe’, following up their cooperation on multipurpose tramp solutions.

The joint semi-liner service offers multipurpose heavy lift tonnage and a full-service of chartering, engineering and operations. The route is said to be connecting mature and developing markets with regular fixed-route sailings, flexible port calls and multiple classes of heavy lift MPP vessels.

“AAL has operated tramp and liner services side-by-side for many years, so we understand the demands of managing regular scheduled services, alongside bespoke chartering solutions.  We operate liner services between Asia – NoPac and Asia – Australia and two semi–liner trades between Asia – USG / USEC and Intra-Asia. These services will soon feature regularly published schedules and departure lists, for easy customer reference,” Marc Willim, General Manager of AAL’s Tramp & Projects Division, explained.

“We’ve addressed customer demands for a more regular and defined schedule, in combination with present tramp flexibility for off route contracts and requirements,” added John Jensen, General Manager of Chartering at Peter Döhle.

AAL, a member of Schoeller Holdings, and Peter Döhle started their cooperation in 2015 in order to offer tramp and projects solutions to the global market and new semi-liner services on global trades.
