ABB to Cut Norway Workforce

ABB in Norway is forced to make further capacity adjustments due to lower activity levels in the market.

The staff within the unit oil, gas and chemistry was informed on Thursday that the company plans to reduce its workforce by up to 120 employees.

The capacity adjustment is in addition to the one that was announced for the entire ABB in Norway in autumn 2015, but this time it only affects oil and gas operations.

According to ABB, this decision affects all offices, professions and levels within this division.

ABB in Norway has oil and gas related industries as its biggest market. Norwegian outfits have around 2,400 employees and had revenues of 8.8 billion in 2015.
