Aitkens, DOF, and Titan Tools will be operating from the York Street site, occupying the entire 362,000ft² space, Aberdeen Harbour said in a statement on Friday.

Matt North, Commercial Director at Aberdeen Harbour Board, said: “We firmly believe it is a sign of continued optimism in the city’s maritime capabilities and renowned supply chain.

“The Nord Centre gives direct access to the Harbour’s dry dock facility and expansive areas of the quayside, and considerable investment into the Centre will ensure it gives customers high quality, flexible services.”

Robert Gillespie, Managing Director of DOF Subsea, said: “The location is ideal for DOF Subsea, and we are already feeling the benefit of having our logistics base closer to Aberdeen Harbour, closer to our vessels when in port, closer to our main office and project teams, and closer to the vital quayside supply chain. The new location enables us to be more proactive in our response to urgent requirements and makes it far easier for project managers and others to be more involved with day-to-day activities/operations in the warehouse.”

Global Energy Groups, Chief Operating Officer, Ian Cobban commented: “The facility, which has been home to one of our Fabrication divisions for some time, is now also the base for our Marine and offshore modular and accommodation division, Aiken.”

Titan Tools Services Limited is a provider of rental tools and maintenance services for the drilling sector. The firm moves from shared premises with Titan Torque, which supports oilfield service companies in the make-up and break-out of equipment at nearby Links Place, to a new operation with five times more yard space than previously available.

Graeme Stewart, Operations Director at Titan Tools Services Limited, said: “There are lots of synergies between the two businesses and the fact we haven’t had to move too far away is ideal.”

Stewart added: “This significant investment by Titan Tools in greater office, workshop and yard space reflects our confidence in the market and Aberdeen as a city. We’re delighted with the move to the Nord Centre.”
