Acta Marine’s CSV hull arrives in Norway

Acta Marine’s new built Ulstein SX195 walk to work vessel hull has arrived in Norway for the final construction phase.

Marine support services provider Acta Marine said on Thursday that the new walk-to-work construction support vessel Acta Auriga arrived at Ulstein Verft.

Upon completion of the hull, Acta Auriga was launched in dry-dock and prepared for the journey to Ulsteinvik, Norway. Ulstein, together with the hull builder in Poland, completed the steelwork and other preparations, according to plan.

The company added that the vessel would be outfitted, commissioned, and tested during the coming months.

Acta Marine added that the vessel was positioned in Ulstein Verft’s sheltered dry-dock. The company added that the outfitting and completing of the vessel and the installation of the SMST provided mission equipment, motion compensated gangway, and a 3D crane was set to begin.

Upon delivery, scheduled for the end of the first quarter of 2018, the Acta Auriga will join its semi-sister vessel, Acta Orion. This will be the second vessel in the Acta fleet dedicated for walk to work, offshore logistics, and accommodation services for a variety of clients in the offshore renewable and offshore energy industry.

The vessel is 93.4 meters long, 18 meters wide, and can accommodate up to 120 people in 80 cabins. It will be equipped with a dynamic motion compensated gangway system and a 3D-motion compensated crane with 6 tonne lifting capacity. Also, the cargo area is 500 square meters indoors, and 500 square meters outdoors.
