American LNG files supply deals to US DOE

American LNG submitted three LNG sale and purchase agreements to the U.S. Department of Energy earlier this week.

Through its unit, LNG Holdings (Florida), the company signed an LNG SPA with New Fortress Energy, dated March 7, 2016, it said in DOE filing. Both companies are part of the Fortress Investment Group.

Under the long-term contract, NFE will purchase up to 75,000 gallons of LNG per day or 2.26 billion cubic feet per year.

LNG will be loaded into the ISO containers at the Hialeah LNG facility located on the northern portion of Hialeah Railyard in Medley, Florida.

In a separate filing, American LNG revealed that it has also signed a deal to purchase 1,095,000 mmBtus per year from Peninsula Energy Services Company (PESCO) for delivery to the Hialeah facility.

Under the contract dated July 15, 2015, the delivery period should commence on January 1, 2016, and run through December 31, 2020, with an option to be extended to December 31, 2023.

In another contract also dated July 15, 2015, American LNG, through LNG Holdings, agreed to purchase up to 1,825,000 mmBtus of natural gas. Delivery term is September 1, 2015, ending on October 31, 2018.

The Hialeah facility has a total production capacity of 100,000 gallons of LNG per day or 8.26 mmcf of natural gas and a storage capacity of approximately 270,000 gallons.

American LNG has been authorized by the DOE to export up to 3.02 bcf of natural gas per year, or 60,000 tons of LNG.

In mid-February, American LNG also notified the Department of Energy that the first export from the facility occurred on February 5, 2016.
