Anadarko picks new executive vice president

U.S. oil and gas company Anadarko has named a new executive vice president of international, deepwater & exploration.

Anadarko said on Monday that Mitch Ingram, formerly the executive vice president of international and deepwater operations and project management, has been named as the EVP of international, deepwater & exploration.

In his new role, Ingram will oversee Anadarko’s international and deepwater operations, as well as its global exploration and project-management activity. The company also said that Ernie Leyendecker, formerly the EVP of exploration, was retiring after more than 30 years in the oil and natural gas industry.

Anadarko chairman, president and CEO, Al Walker, said: “Since joining Anadarko in 2015, Mitch has been an invaluable member of the company’s executive management, as he established a deep and experienced global LNG team that is now approaching a final investment decision in Mozambique, and led our deepwater operations groups through the successful integration of Freeport-McMoRan’s Gulf of Mexico assets.

“We are grateful for Ernie’s many contributions to Anadarko over the years. Ernie added value serving in a number of positions during his career with Anadarko in the areas of worldwide exploration, engineering, and planning. He will be missed, and we wish him the best in his retirement.”

Ingram has nearly 30 years of experience in the oil and natural gas industry and joined Anadarko in 2015 as an EVP of global LNG.

Before joining the company, Ingram worked with BG Group, where he served as an EVP of technical and a member of the company’s Executive Committee. Previously, he held positions of increasing responsibilities with the company’s LNG project in Queensland, Australia.

Prior to BG, Ingram was with Occidental Oil & Gas for 20 years, where he held several U.K. and international positions in project management, development, and operations.
