Asia Offshore Drilling’s New Jack-up Moving to Persian Gulf

Asia Offshore Drilling’s first rig was delivered to the company on Thursday, January 31, 2012.

The rig named AOD I, built at Keppel Fels shipyard in Singapore, was delivered on time and within budget.

AOD I will now move to the Persian Gulf where it will work for Saudi Aramco. The contract is expected to start in April 2013.

The drilling contractor has two more rigs, of the same type, under construction at Keppel Fels shipyard. Both the rigs are slated for delivery in 2013.
