ASRY Receives 'Shipyard Of the Year' Award

ASRY, one of the most experienced marine repair facilities in the Arabian Gulf, has been named the ‘Shipyard Of the Year’ at the Lloyd’s List Middle East and Indian Subcontinent Awards 2013.

The event, hosted by Omar Butti, one of the most sought after presenters on the region’s TV networks, was held on the 29th of October at the Grand Hyatt in Dubai.

Judges recognised the yard’s resilience throughout challenging market conditions and ability to grow, improve and expand when competitors could not, reports the Gulf-Daily.

The Shipyard of the Year Award recognises a shipyard/shipbuilder in Middle East and Indian Subcontinent that has consistently met the needs of its customers in recent times of tight capacity,” the award citation said.

ASRY, founded in 1977 in Bahrain, has over 35 years of experience in marine asset optimisation. Its leading range of facilities includes a 500,000dwt drydock, two floating docks of 252m and 227m in length, 15 repair berths with a total length of approximately 4,000m, twin 255m slipways, as well as a full range of workshops and service centres.
