Atlantic Offshore Orders Another Vessel from Havyard (Norway)

Havyard has been chosen to deliver another Havyard 820-design to Atlantic Offshore for the second time in just a few weeks. The last time the Atlantic / Havyard cooperation was awarded a contract, it was with oil and gas company TOTAL. This time it’s a long-term agreement with Shell UK.

It’s great that our clients are awarded agreements offering Havyard designs. The design of this particular FSV-ship (Field Support Vessel) has been developed in close collaboration by Atlantic Offshore and Havyard Design & Engineering. Havyard will deliver a complete design package as well as a extensive equipment package consisting of our own and external suppliers’ equipment. Amongst the external suppliers you will find a lot of Norwegian ones,” says Gisle Vinjevoll Thrane, sales manager at Havyard Global Solutions AS.

The ship will be located on the Gannet oilfield east of Aberdeen, Scotland, and is certified to rescue more than 300 people. It’s a so-called class A ship, which is the highest rank for this type of ship. The ship will also contain loading and storage capacity to support nearby Shell rigs. Where the ship will be built has yet to be decided, but it will be decided soon.

Atlantic Offshore has a fleet of 22 ships and is located at Sotra, outside Bergen. Havyard has collaborated with Atlantic earlier as well. “Ocean Pride”, a Havyard 832 L design, was delivered to Atlantic in February.
