Atlantic Offshore sends ‘Ocean Clever’ to scrapyard

Norway-based shipping company Atlantic Offshore informed it sold its ‘Ocean Clever’ supply vessel.

The 1975-built multi-role supply vessel will, according to Atlantic Offshore, go to Denmark for recycling. The vessel has been laid up since September 2015.

The company, which now operates a fleet of 18 vessels, provided neither financial details of the sale nor the identity of the buyer.

Atlantic Offshore has lately been selling its older vessels. In April 2015, the company sold its oldest vessel in the fleet at the time, the Ocean Swift. After 58 years of service, Ocean Swift was recycled by the Danish ship recycling company Smedegaarden.

Apart from Ocean Swift, Atlantic Offshore sold another two vessels in 2015, the Ocean Produce and the Ocean Sun.
