AusGroup wins Prelude FLNG job

AusGroup on Tuesday said its unit MAS Australasia reached an agreement with Technip Oceania for the supply of scaffolding and rope access services on the Shell-operated Prelude FLNG project.

Under the agreement, MAS will be responsible for the delivery of scaffolding and rope access activities required for the hook-up and commissioning scope of work, supporting pre-investment activities in Perth, Korea and offshore, AusGroup said.

Shell’s Prelude FLNG facility currently under construction at the Samsung Heavy Industries’ shipyard in South Korea is the largest of its kind with 488m in length and 74m in width, and it will be moored 475 kilometers north-east of Broome in Western Australia.

The FLNG facility is expected to stay moored at the Prelude gas field for 25 years, and is expected to produce 3.6 mtpa of LNG, 1.3 mtpa of condensate and 0.4 mtpa of LPG for export.
