Australia: 2012 SCIBS to Host More Than 60 Launches

Australia - 2012 SCIBS to Host More Than 60 Launches

The 2012 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (24-27 May) will be the venue for more than 60 international and Australian launches, demonstrating the innovative and vigorous state of the Australian leisure marine industry as well as the importance of the SCIBS to manufacturers worldwide.

Alongside the boats and equipment a mass of activities, displays and showcases have been planned that will inspire the imaginations of a new generation of visitors from around the world.

The show will embody the theme “Boating and Beyond”; staking its position as the leading event in Australia and the Far East for showcasing international maritime innovation. In the motor yacht segment, there will be launches from Horizon, Prestige, Princess, Maritimo, Mustang, Pelorus Marine, Palm Beach Motor Yachts, MJM Yachts, Integrity, Clipper, Outer Reef Yachts, Fleming, Grand Banks, Alaska, Hampton, Riviera and more.

Sailing too is well represented, with a series of “firsts” from a number of the major international players and a host of Whitsunday Island charter operators and sailing products promoting their offerings among the panoply of masts and sails on Marina E.

In the trailer category, there will be a swag of launches catering to the fishing, tender, sport and family markets. The PWCs on show will excite both the young and the young at heart, and there will be a massive turn-out of RIBs, engines, equipment, boating accessories and décor items, apparel and sunglasses, and great ideas for getaways and cruising destinations – many offering attractive ‘boat show specials’.

Another first for this year’s show will be the new Superyacht Pavilion; an impressive work of (German) engineering. Designed to be quickly assembled and broken down and with an innovative ‘tite liner’ ceiling, it can withstand a wide range of weather conditions and will provide an impressive exhibition space for many of the top brands in global superyachting.

Reinforcing the international stature of Sanctuary Cove, there will be visiting CEOs and MDs from Jeanneau, Fountaine Pajot, Regal Marine and Integrity Boats, as well as many delegates from the US, Europe, New Zealand and Asia arriving for 2012 Australian Superyacht and Marine Export Conference (ASMEX) preceding the boat show. Also attending the show will be a top-level delegation from the Jianghau Marine & Engineering Company from Qingdao China, which recently opened a new, state-of-the-art 70,000 m² production facility for Integrity Boats. Their presence will give western industry representatives at the show the opportunity to learn more about the impact that companies such as JM&E will have in the years to come and the benefits that low cost, high quality production will have for the consumer.

The Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show provides both boat owners and those working in the industry with an unparalleled setting in which to discuss their priorities and plans for the future with top international executives from right across the leisure marine sector.
