Australia: Hertel Modern Lands Gorgon Gig

Chevron has awarded a three-year Gorgon contract worth $90 million to Perth-based Hertel Modern, WA Business News reported.

Hertel Modern will provide paint, insulation and fireproofing services on Chevron’s Gorgon LNG Project. Work is due to commence early next year.

Hertel Modern is a multi-discipline maintenance and construction services company operating in the industrial and resources, offshore, infrastructure and the commercial building sector.

The Gorgon Project will develop the Gorgon and Jansz/Io gas fields, located within the Greater Gorgon area, about 130 kilometres off the north-west coast of Western Australia.

It includes the construction of a 15 million tonne per annum (MTPA) LNG plant on Barrow Island and a domestic gas plant with the capacity to provide 300 terajoules per day to supply gas to Western Australia.
