Beng Kuang Marine to Build Four Crane Barges (Singapore)

Engineering services firm Beng Kuang Marine has won contracts worth S$28.8m ($23.1m) to build four 60 m crane barges for an unnamed buyer.

Beng Kuang’s subsidiary Asian Sealand Engineering will build the barges that are scheduled to be completed in September 2012. The Singapore-listed firm had reported a net profit of S$686,000 in the first quarter, down 61% from S$1.5m posted in the same period of 2010. Beng Kuang and its subsidiaries are principally engaged in the provision of corrosion prevention services, infrastructure engineering and supply serving the marine, offshore oil and gas and other industries.
