Blackstone Upgrades Gas Pipeline Management System for Tokyo Gas

Blackstone Technology Group, a global IT and business consulting firm, announced a “go live” of the newest release of its Trellis™ platform on Nov. 8, 2012 for Tokyo Gas, the largest natural gas utility in Japan.

Blackstone’s Trellis product is a complete web-based, configurable, single-platform natural gas pipeline management solution that allows Tokyo Gas to manage all of its mission critical natural gas transactions.

The Trellis™ platform offers Tokyo Gas complete management capability over its natural gas transactions, an open architecture, a rich user experience, and the flexibility to support the Japanese marketplace. Blackstone was able to deliver and support Trellis™ remotely, with the team working from the U.S. as it deployed the solution in Japan.

The configurable and flexible Trellis solution supports multiple languages and a complete set of natural gas transportation transactions. A robust and completely open source system, Trellis™ is the only entirely web-based solution that delivers a compelling user experience in the marketplace today. It allows Tokyo Gas to easily and resourcefully manage all commercial activity, create insightful business intelligence reports, and provide first-class customer service to its end customers.

“Blackstone is committed to transforming the energy and utilities industry around the world with its Trellis™ product suite. It is the most configurable and powerful platform in the industry for the complex energy delivery business,” says Rakesh Agrawal, VP of Energy at Blackstone Technology Group. “Tokyo Gas’ technology upgrade to the latest version of Trellis™ showcases the strength of Blackstone’s delivery capabilities and the flexibility of our solution to support both international as well as domestic markets.”
