Brazil Invests in Shipbuilding and Offshore Sector Programmes

Over the last 10 years, Brazil has been investing in public policies and programmes to boost the shipbuilding and offshore sectors.

Major government investments such as PAC (Accelerated Growth Programme) and the demand from Petrobras, a Brazilian Oil& Gas company, for FPSOs, oil tankers and other types of vessels contributes to that. In 2012, orders to Brazilian shipyards totalled more than 400 vessels including oil platforms and drilling rigs.

The Brazilian industry and government want to attract world class players in the commercial marine supply chain, starting with basic parts and equipment and aiming for local production of large complex items in the medium term.

There are huge opportunities for the UK Marine and offshore industries to be explored. Petrobras and other shipowners from Brazil have organized meetings from December 10 – 14 in selected cities.

Aberdeen – Dec 10th

Newcastle – Dec 12th

London – Dec 14th

The following programme is planned:

08h30 – 12h00 Opportunities in the shipbuilding and Offshore industries in Brazil

12h00 – 13h00 Networking lunch
