Brazil: Petrobras to Provide Roncador Seepage Update Today

Brazil’s state controlled oil and gas company, Petrobras, said it would provide additional information on the seep discovered offshore Brazil after the analyses that are currently underway are completed, which also includes identifying the origin of the fluid collected at the site.

The seep occurred in the Roncador Field, in the Campos Basin – 120 kilometers off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. It was discovered on Sunday, April 8, during an inspection conducted with an ROV, near the Chevron operated Frade field where two seeps – one in November, 2011 and the second in early March, 2012, occurred.

Petrobras expects to complete the analyses of the samples collected by the ROV later during the day.
