Brokers: Ocean Longevity Adds Panamax Duo

Hong Kong-based Ocean Longevity is understood to have ordered two 82,000 dwt bulk carriers at Jiangsu New Yangzijiang Shipbuilding.

The Tier II newbuilding duo is estimated to be worth around USD 50 million, USD 25 million apiece, and will be delivered in 2019, according to the information provided by Allied Shipping Research.

The company already has two Panamaxes being built at the yard, also scheduled for delivery in 2019.

Ocean Longevity has three more Panamaxes on order, two at Oshima Shipbuilding, and one at Sasebo, all set for delivery in 2020.

As World Maritime News reported, the orders for the trio were placed in June last year and include one 77,000 dwt and one 84,000 dwt bulker at Oshima shipyard and 77,000 dwt ship at Sasebo yard.

The shipowner has 28 ships in its live fleet, with an average age of 9 years, according to the data from VesselsValue.
