Canada: Halifax Port Authority Acquires CN Land

Halifax Port Authority Acquires CN Land

According to CBC News, the Halifax Port Authority has acquired close to three acres of land from CN as part of a $35-million expansion of the south-end container terminal.

The parcels are on Marginal Road adjacent to the Halterm container pier.

We are not disclosing the price,” Michele Peveril, spokeswoman for the port authority, said in an email to CBC News.

Peveril said the land deal is part of an expansion currently underway that includes dredging and a pier extension.

“As part of this project we are reconfiguring the truck marshalling yard, terminal entrance and realigning a portion of Marginal Road as it is a tight turn for trucks,” Peveril concluded.
