CB&I wins Tacoma LNG plant job

Chicago Bridge & Iron Company has been awarded a contract by Puget Sound Energy for a multi-purpose LNG storage and fueling terminal in Tacoma, Washington valued at over US$200 million. 

The scope of work under the engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction contract, includes a 30,000 cubic meter full containment storage tank, liquefier and vaporizer, CB&I said in a statement on Tuesday.

The facility valued at a total of $275 million located at the Port of Tacoma is planned to provide peak shaving, marine bunkering and truck loading services.

According to the project’s website it will provide fuel for vessels owned by TOTE and other local employers, and is expected to be fully operational by early 2019.
