Ccrow saving offshore contractors’ valuable time

Ccrow, an abbreviation of Central certificates registry for on- & offshore workers, is a Belgium start-up helping offshore contractors to save time when moving between projects.

As its name says, the company has clients in both, on- and offshore industries, covering crew certificates for workers employed in support or construction in the offshore industry,  such as rope access workers, personnel living and working on offshore rigs, ROV and Drone Pilots, Painters, riggers, crane operators, tidal industry workers etc…

Offshore Energy Today spoke with Christian Brouyère, Senior certificates controller, about the company’s mission, capabilities and expectations.

Describing the start-up, Brouyère said that Ccrow centralized all personnel certificates and documents on one online location and provided a total overview per person with issue and expiry dates to the contractors.

“Ccrow checks each and every document provided by the contractor and registers them with issue and expiry dates,“ Brouyère said.

So, why is this important? According to Brouyère, by centralizing all documents and certificates, Ccrow enables contractors to start fast on new projects.

“We’re enabling them to move from one project to another by providing the contractors with the certificates overview checked by a third party, Ccrow.”

Offshore Energy start-up zone

Ccrow will soon showcase its capabilities at a newly established start-up zone during the Offshore Energy Exhibition and Conference in Amsterdam on October 10-11, 2017.

Since the two-day event is expected to be attended by some 12.000 people, Ccrow will have an opportunity to be seen by offshore oil, offshore wind, marine, and dredging professionals.

Asked to be more specific on what audience profile it aims to attract during the event, Brouyère said:

“All developers for on- and offshore installations are welcome, as well as contractors that have crews that need certificates to be able to work in the sector, such as STCW, for vessel crews, GWO for wind turbine technicians, IRATA for rope access technicians, etc…”

Ccrow feels the event is the place to be as the offshore energy sector is where contractors are involved, moving between projects.

“Time loss is frequent, when registering personnel and vessels is concerned.  Our aim is to shorten these delays, by registering the contractors personnel before they are involved on a project,” Brouyère said.

The Belgium start-up centralizes, checks, and registers all submitted documents and delivers a single document, stating all registered documents, including dates of issue and expiry. Personnel can consult their details and certificates online.

The contractors can also save all info in a PDF form that is printable. According to Ccrow, this is useful and easy if you have to outsource your personnel and exchange personnel information with other companies.

What is more, all registered persons will be notified if a document is about to expire (expiry day -90). This gives all involved, the time to replace the document with a valid one or plan the needed training course.

Christian Brouyère added: “Time gain is enormous for contractors and developers if the crews are registered.  The crews can be checked on the needed certificates at any time. The overview is easy to use in PDF format with the details that the contractor provides.”
