CGG Names New Executive Vice President, Sercel Global Operations

CGG announces the appointment of Arnaud Surpas as Executive Vice President, Global Operations, Sercel, CGG’s equipment division.

This appointment took effect on May 1st 2013.

Based in Nantes, France, Arnaud Surpas is in charge of Sercel operations worldwide including site management, manufacturing, quality, the supply chain and sales & marketing. He remains in charge of Health, Security and Environment (HSE), information technology (IT) and special projects. Arnaud is a member of Sercel’s and CGG’s Management Committees.

Since 2008, he has been Senior Vice President, Global Operations, within the Equipment division and led the company’s HSE and IT strategies as well as its operations in France, UK and North America. Prior to this appointment, Arnaud served with Sercel as Vice President, Special Projects.

Arnaud began his career in 1993 by managing a manufacturing restructuring project for Schneider Electric in the UK for two years. Back in France, he worked for the strategy consulting firm A.T. Kearney for five years. In 2000, he joined a website development and hosting company, Integra, where he led the integration of 15 newly acquired European affiliates before managing the company’s web design division in France. Before joining CGG in 2006, Arnaud was a partner in a management consulting firm proposing business turnaround services.

Arnaud Surpas, 44, is a graduate of the Ecole des Mines de Saint-Etienne and holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from INSEAD.
