Chevron picks DLB Norce Endeavour for Thailand campaign

Solstad Offshore has executed a multiple-year contract with Chevron in Thailand for its offshore installation and construction program utilizing the Derrick Lay Barge “DLB Norce Endeavour”.

According to Solstad, the vessel will install multiple new wellhead platforms and subsea pipelines for Chevron in the Gulf of Thailand starting in 2016 and extending for four years fixed term with three one-year options.

Solstad says that the contract value is confidential among the parties.

According to the contract, the offshore scope of work starting in 2016 includes the installation of WHP’s and pipelines providing a forecast utilization of the “DLB Norce Endeavour” of around 200 days.

The number and configuration of wellhead platforms and subsea pipelines to be installed in subsequent years is not fixed and will vary depending on Chevron productions requirements, Solstad said on Tuesday.

Solstad will provide project management, engineering, procurement and logistics to support the DLB installation and construction scope of work through its DLB Marine Projects group in the Singapore office.

Norce Endeavour performed its first seasonal campaign in Thailand for Chevron in 2014. Mobilisation for the 2016 season will start in January.

DLB Norce Endeavour was built in 2011 by Keppel. The vessel can accommodate 256 persons.
