China: After 12 Days of Repair Works MV SCOPE Leaves CIC Shipyard

All jobs of m/v “Scope” were finished after ten days hard working and she departed at 2:30 pm 7th June. “Scope” was built by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding CO., Ltd. in 2006, the main job of this repair in our shipyard was shell plate renewal and cargo hold sandblasting and painting with a short repair period of 12 days.

To carry out the guideline of “ensuring the departure time and rushing the drydocking period”, the yard production department swiftly called in relative personnel in charge to hold a special meeting and delivered to them the repair schedule and the progress requirement. As a result, the erection of staging in nine cargo holds was completed in only one day after the vessel’s arrival and the whole hull sandblasting and painting job was finished within 72 hours. One day was reduced from the original drydocking schedule. All these efforts were highly appreciated by the Turkish owner and also reflected the shipyard’s capability in the field of coating job.
