CCS, Wärtsilä Ink Framework Agreement on Technical Cooperation

On January 30, 2013, China Classification Society (CCS) and Wärtsilä Services (Shanghai) Co., Limited signed a framework agreement in Shanghai on technical cooperation.

The comprehensive cooperation will relate to areas such as ship design, ship power (including propulsion system), ship automation, environmental protection and energy saving technologies. The cooperation projects will mainly cover approval of new products, ship type design and development, development of rules and standards, cooperation on research projects, exchange of technical information, and cooperation on the market. Both sides will prioritize the cooperation on research and development of LNG dual-fuelled ship types as well as development of technical standards for LNG dual-fuel engines and system arrangement.

Mr. Sun Feng, CCS Vice President, and Mr. Qiu Yi, Strategic Account General Manager of Wärtsilä China signed the agreement on behalf of the two organizations. Mr. Chen Shi, CCS Deputy Chief Engineer, Mr. Li Hua, General Manager of CCS Shanghai Branch, Mr. Han Jianfeng, President of Wärtsilä China, and a number of other guests attended the signing ceremony.
