China: CIC Changxing Shipyard Installs Two Deck Crane on Vessel FRISIA SPREE

Container vessel FRISIA SPREE (DWT 13,768t) owned by a large-scale German company arrived at CIC Changxing Shipyard at the beginning of November, 2011. The main repair scope was two deck crane installation and other some general surveys.

It was the third time, in this year, for the yard to install new cranes on-board the vessels. But what distinguished this project from the others was the vessel didn’t have the foundations of the cranes on deck. Considering this situation, the yard contacted the owners for the drawing of the foundations in advance. Before the vessel’s arrival, the yard had carried out the pre-fabrication which saved 1/3 time of new installation.

Furthermore, the yard also overcame the bad weather and tight delivery time. Finally, all the jobs were fulfilled on time.
