China: COSL’s HYSY720 Marks Major Achievement in 3D Seismic Data Collection

Business & Finance

Recently, the accumulated 3D seismic data collection volume of HYSY720, a seismic vessel fleet of China Oilfield Services Limited (“COSL”), has surpassed the 10,000 km2 level to reach 10,010.415 km2.

This marks another major achievement for HYSY720 following the previous record-breaking performance measures in the areas of daily and monthly data collection volumes. It also marks another record for all-weather operations for COSL’s geophysical fleet in Chinese waters.

Since delivered on 22 April 2011 and commenced operation on 20 May 2011, HYSY720 has finished eight services contracts within a period of 11 months. These are performances that hit new records on the Company’s 3D data collection volumes on daily and monthly bases. These have raised the ceilings for daily and monthly 3D data collection volumes of COSL’s geophysical fleets to 96.49 km2 and 1,607.79 km2, breaching the 10,000 km2 level for aggregate 3D data collection volume. In addition, this seismic vessel fleet also performed its first conventional 3D data collection operation in China waters last winter, an unprecedented all-weather operation delivered by geophysical fleets in China.
