China: Sanfu Shipyard Holds Awarding Ceremony for Scholarship Winners

The Awarding Ceremony for Sanfu Shipping Scholarship and Chang Shi Scholarship in Jiangsu University of Technology was held in the morning on Nov., 11th. General Manager Assistant, Mr. Cao Xianfeng, and Deputy Section Manager of HR Section, Mr. Yang Long attended the ceremony and awarded honorary certificates to the scholarship winners.

On the Awarding Ceremony, Mr. Pan Jingquan, director of students work department delivered a warm speech, in which he expressed his thanks towards Sanfu Shipyard and Changshi Group for donating money for education and congratulations towards the winners. He pointed out that an enterprise’s benevolent act as donating money to education best demonstrates its high spirit and sense of responsibility. Besides, his encouragement went to students who had won the scholarship, hoping that they could take that awarding moment as a new starting point. At the same time, he calls on the students to guard against arrogance and impetuosity, to make persistent efforts under the guidance of “Ship Spirit” of Jiangsu University of Technology, and to strive for a greater victory, to aim to become the pillar in the line of ship engineering, and to contribute to social development.

As one of the award presenters, Mr. Cao Xianfeng said in his speech that Sanfu Ship-building is a private sector which gains its development mostly in recent years .In 2010, its total revenue is as high as 5.54 billion RMB, and by the end of 2011, as estimated, will break 6 billion RMB. The continuous development and growth of the shipyard require more talents to join in the company in order to improve core competitiveness. For the time being, to build a provincial technical center is on the company’s agenda and 120 research personnel will be recruited.

Then, vice dean of the School of Energy and Power Engineering, Mr. Lu Shikui read at the ceremony the Commendatory Decision on Commending Sanfu Ship Scholarship Winners of the year 2011/2012. And Mr. Zhou Hong, deputy secretary of Party Committee from School of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, read the Commendatory Decision on Commending Changshi Scholarship Winners of the year 2011/2012. Mr. Li Mingrui, vice director for Students’ Work Dept. at the university presided over the ceremony.
