CIC Jiangsu Starts Erection Stage of 10000 TEU Containership

On October 26th, the 10000 TEU containership under construction by China Shipping Industry (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. (CICJS) for China Shipping Container Lines Co., Ltd. smoothly entered into the erection stage in the Dock No 3 of China Shipping Jiangsu shipbuilding base. With this development, CICJS took a leap step on speeding up the transformation and upgrading of its shipbuilding quality.

The executive deputy general manager of CICJS Wang Yiling presided over the ceremony held amid erection in the dock, whereas the Secretary of the Party Committee of CICJS Qiu Shuquan made a welcome address. The secretary of the Party Committee of Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd. Duan Fengshuang and the deputy general manager of China Shipping Container Lines Co., Ltd. Feng Xingguo respectively delivered speeches on behalf of the partners and ship owner, in which they fully affirmed the shipbuilding quality of CICJS during construction of the vessel, voicing wilingness for continuation of cooperation.

In addition, they cut the ribbon together with the deputy general manager of China Chipping Industry Li Zhengjian and leaders of GL and CCS marking officially the beginning of the erection stage. The deputy general manager Feng Xingguo issued the command of erection of the 10000 TEU container ship, and the first block was smoothly and safely positioned in the dock by a 900 tons gantry crane.

“Building of 10000 TEU container ship is the key task, the key project, the brand-name product of speeding up the transformation and upgrading of China Shipping Industry and CICJS. After six month-long efforts, the erection of  10000TEU containership is the result of innovation and diligence of all CICJS staff.

“CICJS is confident in its ability to build good containerships, and will move hand in hand with China Shipping (Group) Company to the future, making a positive contribution to implement the dream of ‘centennial China Shipping, First Class Enterprise’,” CIC said in a release.
