Coda Octopus Delivers Underwater Inspection System to Port Canaveral
Coda Octopus Group, Inc., recently delivered an Underwater Inspection System (UIS(TM)) to Port Canaveral. The UIS(TM) is an integrated real time 3D sonar system for underwater inspection applications including port and harbor construction, maintenance, port expansion, maritime security, and route clearance surveys.
The all-in-one system is comprised of the Echoscope® real time 3D sonar, a day/night camera, a positioning system, an easy to use precision pole assembly and operator’s lap-tops.
Port Canaveral is one of the busiest cruise ports in the world. The UIS(TM) system will be used as a multi-faceted real time sonar for underwater inspections of critical infrastructure assets, risk assessment, vessel hull surveys and routine clearance surveys.
Port Canaveral Police Chief Joe Hellebrand said he is excited about adding the unique UIS(TM) system as a maritime security and surveying asset and goes on to say: “It provides real-time 3D sonar visualization, which will assist us with decision making.”
Blair Cunningham, President of Technology said, “We are very pleased to welcome Port Canaveral to our UIS(TM) user community. Every week there are examples of the Coda Octopus UIS(TM), incorporating the real-time 3D Echoscope®, helping our customers to gain real cost benefits in port operations by reducing operating costs through ease of use, and improving maritime security by providing immediate feedback through its real time visualization of potential underwater risks.”
