Cyberhawk scoops more drone work in Middle East

Scottish Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) inspection and survey services provider Cyberhawk Innovations has won another oil and gas UAV inspection contract with Dubai Petroleum.

The company said on Monday that the three-year framework agreement for UAV inspections across all of Dubai Petroleum’s offshore assets has the option to renew on a yearly basis for two years.

The agreement follows Cyberhawk’s completion of work for Dubai Petroleum in 2015.

Cyberhawk added that the Middle East had been a lucrative market for the company, conducting the first UAV inspections in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Oman, Saudi Arabia and most recently, Qatar.

Chris Fleming, CEO at Cyberhawk said: “We have invested significant resources into the Middle East, not only to build our own business but also importantly, to raise awareness of the safety, cost and time benefits on offer for the region’s oil and gas industry.

“Our framework agreement with Dubai Petroleum is an encouraging sign that UAV technology is being accepted and adopted in this region.”

Fleming added: “We continue to promote the benefits of UAV inspection, which include minimized safety risk, improved inspection times and major cost savings, and our growing client base demonstrates that drones are fast becoming the go-to technology for inspections.”
