Dae Sun Shipbuilding Continues to Win New Orders

Dae Sun Shipbuilding and Engineering Co., Ltd. (Dae Sun), located in Busan city, Korea successfully inked a newbuild contract with Dong Jin Shipping Co., Ltd., on July 11th, for a new 1,000 TEU feeder container carrier, which is the one of the major products of Dae Sun. This newly contracted vessel is scheduled to be delivered in August 2015.

In view of this contract standing in succession of two units of 51,200 DWT MR Class Chemical Tanker and four units of 1,000 TEU container ship contracts, Dae Sun has been winning continuous new contracts proving to be one of the most assured shipyards toward customers’ satisfaction even in this depressed newbuilding market.

These series of good performance are based on shipowners’ favour, which has been concreted on Dae Sun’s good quality and on-time delivery.

In addition, on July 9th, Dae Sun successfully delivered ‘NAVE CAPELLA’ which is the 6th MR product carrier among 7 series vessels for Navios Maritime Holdings Inc. subsequent to the naming ceremony which has been held on the same date. At the naming ceremony, the Buyer’s representative and 30 ship owners’ guests participated and celebrated the birth of ‘NAVE CAPELLA’ and wished her safe voyage.

The newly delivered vessel demonstrated its consistent and stable production capacity as well as the highly quality of Dae Sun products by recording a cruising speed of 15.74 knots during her sea trial which exceeds the contract guaranteed speed.

Ever since entering the shipbuilding business in 1945 and by using its three shipyards located in Busan, Dae Sun has delivered more than 500 vessels, including special ships, and has positioned itself as a leading pioneer shipyard by way of diversification through the contract of various type of vessels.
