Dana Petroleum’s Triton FPSO Reaches 200 Millionth Barrel Milestone

Dana Petroleum’s Triton FPSO Reaches 200 Millionth Barrel Milestone

Dana Petroleum’s oil production vessel Triton has marked a major milestone by successfully extracting its 200 millionth barrel from the North Sea.

Triton is a floating, production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) and produces oil and gas from the Bittern, Guillemot West and North West, Clapham, Pict and Saxon fields. It is located in the UK Central North Sea 120 miles east of Aberdeen.

Triton produced first oil from Bittern back in April 2000. Dana was a non-operated partner in the Bittern field from 2010 and became operator of Triton in October 2012.

Paul Griffin, Dana’s UK Managing Director, said: “The Triton Team takes a huge amount of pride in this significant milestone and accomplishment, which symbolises over a decade of safe, reliable operations. But it also marks the opening of a brand new chapter in the Triton journey, and gives Dana valuable experience as we prepare to operate the Western Isles FPSO.”
